In the early times,MIM was applied in production armament,mainly included gun,shell case and so on.the shape and structure of gun parts are all rather complex,and special application and have a bit of dangerous,so cause gun spare parts must have very high quality,included mechanical properties,density, precision etc.
Traditional gun parts are usually use forging and machining to produce,machining can get high quality gun parts,but its material utilization is low,especially in producing structure parts,metal shell etc,the material utilization have only 15%-20%,most of material are be cutting.And also for mini gun spare parts(trigger,card stall etc), the production of high strength material is very difficulty,low effective,have no economical efficiency.
MIM can formed all kinds of complicated spare parts,overcame the characteristic that low material utilization of machining,can reduce a large of metal material,so greatly down the machining cost.We are produce all of gun spare parts using this process because of MIM has many advantages.With the development and mature technology of MIM,MIM had occupied more and more proportion in gun spare industry.
