Nowadays, the auto industry is developed at a high speed, and is more and more popular. Besides, the weight of cars become smaller, population and energy consumption are fewer, and the lifetime and usable function get better, and all of these can’t be achieved without powder metallurgy technology.
In order to improve the heat resistance of cars, most of engines in cars take in valve seals made by powder metallurgy, containing Cu and Pb, which results in that the heat conductivity is raised by 2.5 times and reduction of temperature by around 70 degrees. Moreover, titanium alloy parts made by powder metallurgy are applied in cars, which have achieved smaller weight and longer lifetime.
Although, powder metallurgy isn’t the leading role in auto industry, it becomes more important.
