Auto and Powder Metallurgy Parts in Asia
The fast development of cars industry has drove the development of auto parts industry, especially car parts by powder metallurgy. The technical vice chairman of Hyundai-Kia Automotive Group, Joon Chul Park said: “in the 2006 world powder metallurgy seminar: the powder metallurgy parts shared around 1% of a mid-sized sedan, around 10kg. Besides, all of these powder metallurgy parts are important parts. And 75% is used in engine and transmission. And there is still large room for rising.” Hyundai-Kia Automotive Group is the biggest manufacturer of cars in South Korea, and there are more than 370 powder metallurgy parts in a car, the mass is around 6.5Kg, and now has gone over 8.0kg.
Since 1980s, with the economy has boomed, the fast development of household appliance, auto and other industries has pushed the rising of powder metallurgy in China, and has made the powder metallurgy parts the focus in the world.
