As led by powder metallurgy, MIM technologies are more and more mature and stable, which includes the preparations the feeds, injection molding, computer simulation of injection molding process, decreasing, sintering, applications of MIM, the product design and the standard of MIM.
Beginning in the 1920s, MIM technology has already appeared, which applied to the powder injection molding of the ceramic spark plugs. Then, PIM concentrated mainly on ceramic injection molding during the subsequent decades. Until 1979, Wiech and his partners started a company named Parmatch, whose MIM productions won two awards. And at that time, Wiech and Rivers obtained patents one after another. Since then, MIM has become dominant.
The developments of MIM started out late in China. Many technologies are weaker than foreign countries. So far, there’re few books relating about MIM. As a consequence of this, we should publish more books about the theories of MIM technologies.
